A Number Of Improvements In Carbide Inserts From Iscar Through The Previous Decade

Iscar is launching a groundbreaking distinctive milling system that features tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has meaningful benefits compared to the existing flat, square shapes. The modern geometry has even more cutting edges, positive rake face, decreased cutting forces resulting in greater performance.

Iscar is developing a new distinctive milling system that includes tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has major advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new design has more cutting edges, positive rake face, lesser cutting forces resulting in better performance. The carbide inserts are screw-clamped on the outside of multiple milling cutter types, providing unmatched conditions also for heavy-duty operations with superb surface quality, saving many finishing operations. End mills are presented for 90 degree shoulder milling and for facing with 45 degree lead angles.

Each carbide insert contains eight cutting edges, 4 for right-hand and 4 for left-hand cutting, enhancing the economy of use. The two, toward-center-slanted cutting edges supply on one side solid and proper clamping of insert in the tool body, and on the other side, the positive axial rake angle. The usefulness of this positive axial rake composition reduces the cutting forces owing to softer cut and easier penetration into the metal, as well as changing force direction which is required for use on new machining centers with pallet systems significantly less stable than on the classical transfer lines.

In normal applications like in the auto industry, the depth-of-cut is under than thirty thousandths of an inch empowering the use of all 8 cutting edges of the Tangmill carbide inserts. In addition, in the automotive industry it is routine to use a pair of cutters, one for right- and one for left-handed operations, which means that all eight cutting edges of the Tangmill inserts can be utilized.

Brand new ISCAR UPGRADES for Fast Metal Removal

Brand new improvement coming from the headquarters of Iscar, creating the brand new Upgrade campaign, which assures that they are looking toward the future. The new Upgrade campaign, proposed to be distributed at the end of year 2008, will offer completely new tools for milling, turning, hole making and multifunction applications, complementing the FMR (Fast Metal Removal) tool families with one aim in mind - to enhance productivity on the shop floor and to boost profits.

Iscar's focus for this year, with no doubt, are the revolutionary coatings, completely new substrate formations, brand-new cutting edge geometries, new sizes, completely new tangential clamping mechanisms and new coolant nozzle characteristics. Iscar's future trends incorporate brand new carbide insert grades for effectual and cost-effective machining, more cutting edges for each insert and great tangential clamping mechanisms which can significantly reduce the cutting pressure. The launching of the AL-TEC, PVD coating particularly for nodular cast iron, a-TECH, CVD coating predominantly for grey cast iron and the DO-TECH, dual CVD PVD coating for raised strength will refashion the way industry machines cast iron. Moreover, Iscar producing mini inserts is an alternate direction within the Upgrade campaign, referring to decreasing the sizes of the Tangmill carbide inserts into Minitang, in order to simplify fine pitch configuration which will speed up feed rates. And furthermore, the minimal size of the carbide inserts and their unique tangential position in the pockets make possible a much larger core diameter, in terms of tool design, when opposed to normal radially oriented inserts.

A Few Of The Many Improvements In Carbide Inserts From Iscar
Iscar is introducing a new unique milling system with tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has significant advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, reduced cutting forces resulting in higher performance.

New Tools And Carbide Insert Arrangements From Iscar To Better Enhance The Machining Method
Iscar is introducing Penta 34 carbide inserts with a new PB chipformer. The PB chipformer features a single cavity with a positive rake, neutral shoulder angle, and a honed edge. It is actually a C-type chipformer with a different frontal edge.

Cutting Edge End Mills From Iscar Will Increase Productivity While Lowering Costs
Manufacturers and die & mold shops can banish chatter problems in numerous milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree end mills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the primary source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling.

Many Improvements Have Enlarged Iscar's Line Of Indexable Endmills For Expanded Productivity
Helido-Upfeed 04 Two years ago Iscar introduced the extremely efficient H600 indexable endmill line, based on conceptually new Helido-Upfeed double sided inserts with 6 cutting edges. The first insert launched was the H600 WXCU 0806..., which was designed for milling cutters in the diameter range of 50 to 125 mm.

Iscar Recently Releases Many Revolutionary Lines To Extend Their Family Of Milling Tools
Iscar recently released a new family of High Speed Milling adjustable endmills and facemills that will improve milling of aluminum, non-metallics, cast iron and hardened steel. This should prove especially useful in the automotive and aerospace industries.
