A TV Documentary About Alcoholism Symptoms Results In Gloomy Emotions About A Woman's Hazardous And Excessive Drinking

Sharon had been involved in abusive drinking behavior since her freshman year in college. Now, nine years later, she drank more than ever. One Wednesday night when she was feeling a bit run down, Sharon decided to stay home, chill out, and watch television. While trying to find a program to watch that would capture her attention, she instantaneously became captivated with a program about young adult and adolescent drinking issues.

The narrator discussed the difference between alcoholism and alcohol abuse and then discussed the subject of alcoholic symptoms and alcoholic behavior. When the spokesperson went into detail about a person's symptoms of withdrawal and some of the more familiar alcoholic symptoms and signs that people dependent on alcohol reveal, Sharon got quite troubled because it almost seemed as if the spokesperson was talking explicitly to her.

After watching the TV special, Sharon promised herself that she would call her health care provider the next business day and schedule an appointment to discuss her abusive and excessive drinking.

When the next business day arrived, true to her word, Sharon called her health care professional and made an appointment. While she was waiting for the day of her appointment to arrive, she went online and did a search for alcoholism symptoms. Especially noteworthy were the following symptoms or signs: increasing tension, significant employment and relationship difficulties, sleep issues, making excuses to drink at almost every chance, and sneaking extra drinks before social events.

Simply stated, due to the fact that Sharon manifested all of these signs she went into greater detail in her online search and found several websites and blogs that discussed diverse alcohol addiction symptoms and warning signs. One of the signs that really took hold of her curiosity was the following: "Do you usually drink after promising yourself that you won't?"

Another alcoholic sign that grabbed her curiosity was the following: "Have friends irritated by objecting to your irresponsible drinking?" A third alcoholism symptom was the following: "Do you need a drink when you first get up in the morning?"

The final alcohol dependency warning symptom that made her feel slightly uneasy about her irresponsible drinking was the following: "Has your enthusiasm for life diminished since you started drinking on a more regular basis?" When Sharon read this sign she clearly recognized that drinking had become a major difficulty in her life because of her diminished energy level and also because she stopped pursuing her goals and her dreams.

After pondering the significance of all of these unhealthy alcohol dependency signs and symptoms, Sharon at first felt dejected. Then something remarkable came about. She realized that she was going to see her doctor about her irresponsible drinking and she also realized that she would discuss her alcohol dependency warning signs and symptoms.

In fact, for the first time in numerous months, Sharon sincerely felt a sense of optimism because she was facing her irresponsible drinking and was in the end ready to make the needed alterations so that she could regain the life that was slipping away.
