A Young Male Gets A "Driving Under The Influence" Arrest And Comes To A Decision To Hire A "Drunk Driving" Lawyer

Although Franklin wasn't a lawyer, he told his son that he learned the hard way when as a young man he received a "driving under the influence" arrest, represented himself in court, paid two thousand dollars in fines and penalties, and served 90 days in the city jail. As he told his son, after he got released from jail, he found out from an attorney friend that had he hired a "drunk driving" attorney to represent him in court, he probably would have had his penalties and fines substantially reduced and he might have never served any time in jail.

When Lawrence heard this he knew he needed more DUI facts and so he asked his dad for additional information about what a DWI lawyer can do in a DWI arrest. His father then stated the following: "Having a DUI defense attorney can make the DUI experience far less stressful. Not only this, but a 'driving under the influence' attorney can prepare you for the proceedings each and every step of the way, answer your questions, and ensure that if there is a way to help you within the law, he or she will find this way."

When Lawrence heard his father explain this, it was as if his eyes were opened for the first time about the critical nature of hiring a "drunk driving" lawyer. Near the end of their conversation, Lawrence said that he was beginning to grasp the relevance of "driving under the influence" laws and what DUI lawyers can do for a person who has received a DUI arrest.

After getting "educated" about DUI arrests, the role of DUI lawyers, and understanding that he didn't have to agree to take any field sobriety tests at the time of his arrest, Lawrence decided that he would without question hire a DWI lawyer to represent him in court. Something else, however, happened after he had talked to his father. Lawrence finally started to understand the serious nature of DWI arrests and, as a consequence, he came to a decision that from this point forward, he would always drink in moderation so that he would never again have to suffer through another "drunk driving" arrest.

His father smiled at Lawrence and told him the following: "son, it took me until I was fifty years old to realize what you just told me. I am very proud of you." This did wonders for his self worth and so Lawrence thanked his dad and then said, "if I can always drink in moderation, I will never have to hire a driving under the influence attorney again!"

Regrettably, there was one issue that neither Lawrence nor his father considered, namely, if Lawrence is manifesting any alcohol abuse signs or maybe if he is manifesting any of the usual signs of alcoholism. If truth be known, if Lawrence is exhibiting any alcohol signs that indicate alcohol addiction or alcohol abuse, more likely than not he will need alcohol rehab.

Indeed, Lawrence may be mandated by the court to get treatment for his abusive drinking. The good news, however, is that whatever it takes to address his abusive and hazardous drinking, it seems that Lawrence will be motivated to do the "correct" thing.
