Easy To Learn Dog Obedience Training Methods

The basic commands to teach your dog are stay, sit and come. You and your dog will become bonded by these basic commands for life. When you take your dog out you don't want him to be running insanely in the street, you want to exhibit him as the perfect dog that you would like others to think he is.

Getting frustrated because your dog licks people when you are outdoors? Still trying to figure out why your dog runs away from you at the park while everyone else's pet quickly returns to them?

The answer is simple, enroll in a dog obedience training course. Your puppy can learn how to be well mannered in a matter of weeks with a little patience, time and attention.

There are dog obedience classes being run in every city, so if you can't teach your dog by yourself there is plenty of support available at any one of the available classes. You will not just be training your puppy you will be socializing with him, getting him used to other people and other dogs.

Treats are a great way to teach your dog obedience; you can bribe him with a treat when he does something you want him to do, or If he refuses to obey then he misses out on a treat. There is no point shouting at your dog as it will make him fearful of you and you don't want that, you want to encourage a happy relationship with him. Dogs are man's best friend, depending upon how you treat them.

While doing your basic dog training try and carry out the lessons away from any diversions like his toys or play things. Go to an empty field or park where there aren't any other people or animals. Teaching the sit command is fairly easy, tell your dog to sit, then take your hand and place it on his back and gently guide his bottom down, when it is down say sit and make a fuss of him by patting him, then give him a biscuit or what ever treats you have brought along to reward him with.

By regularly repeating this exercise, your dog will obey your order and sit, because he understands that by carrying out your orders he will be rewarded and also because he can see that you are delighted with him. Eventually your dog will obey you automatically, and the treats will no longer be necessary.

When dogs are born they are like soft clay, they need to be shaped and groomed. You can teach your dog from any age but young puppies are easier to train as the older a dog gets the less inclined he is to learn, so teaching him new commands is not easy.
