Tire chains are the old traditional means of supplying a car extra traction and control when driving on the snow and ice. With the tire chains on, the braking distance was around 37 feet.
With the SnoClaws on, the braking distance was a little over 30 feet- very comparable with regular tires.
The Chattanooga Police Department results determined that one needs about 7 feet more to bring the vehicle to a stop with tire chains. That seven feet could be the critical distance between avoiding an accident and not avoiding an accident. Which means that, the GoClaws is a very safe and practical solution. Safe to employ on paved roads, and even safer to use on snow and ice covered roads. This implies SnoClaws are the way to go.
